Now THIS is winter!

We should have known it was going to be a big snow storm when we already had 6 inches by Friday night... But this morning we awoke to a grand total of 12 inches, which is more snow that I've seen in a very long time! I'd forgotten how bright everything is when it's covered in a blanket of white, powdery, snowy goodness. This is the only time we've had more than 3 inches since moving to KY 3 yrs ago.

(I'm waiting on pictures to download... in the meantime, please enjoy this video of Keira attacking Johnny. Just kidding!)

She loves to run around the yard like a maniac in the snow. At the end of the video he tries to touch her face and she thinks he's playing with her, which results in much growling and jumping. I promise, no dog-daddies were harmed in the making of this video! It looks like a film made for a wildlife documentary...you know, the ones where the once-calm and accepting wild animals suddenly turn on the filmmaker. Johnny drops the camera down so K-dogger won't bite it, so it looks even MORE as if he was attacked!

Fierce! She's just a wolf-wannabe.

Didge loves to do that, too, except that the snow was nearly taller than him this time. So, no funny videos of getting attacked - he was too tired!

I don't suppose your usage of "fierce" indicates an affinity to a certain designer on Project Runway??

That is hilarious! It totally looks like Johnny was mauled in the end (not that it would be hilarious if your husband was mauled by a dog, but you know what I mean...)

And, Amy, I immediately thought of Christian when I read "fierce," too!

Yep, just a little shout out to my boy...er, girl...Christian! Project Runway is my fave; I literally jump up and down and clap when a new episode is Tivo'd so I can watch while Hania gets a bottle! Her first words might be "make it work".

Too cute doggie and in the snow, omg! I am waiting to potty train my kids so we can finally get one. I can only do one potty training at a time.

That's how my Britney dog is with the first little bit of snow . . . love it!!! Congrats on being featured!

We never see snow where I am from, but that's probably how I would act if I did!

Too cute... :)

OMG, that was so cute. We got like one or two inches of snow this winter, and our big yellow lab went nuts! She loved it. She ran around like your dog and tried to dig in it and was just wild. Loved it.

It does look like a vicious dog attack. lol You have a sweet lookin' doggy though. Fun video!

i think all dogs love playing in the snow just like the kids. LOL we have a boxer/pit that does that.

I used to have a dog that would go balistic in the snow- she just couldn't contain herself.
The snow looks nice!

The snow looks so pretty!!
Cute dog too!!

Dogs in the snow are the cutest!! Our big guy LOVES the snow and goes crazy like that too. I love when they get snow all over their noses!

Meesha loves the snow as well. She runs around furiously then rolls in it. Sparky is a little more laid back, he's more into eating it.

Isn't it fun to watch them run in the snow with reckless abandon?! We love to throw the tennis ball and watch our aussie dig for it in the snow--comical!

Jen said...

I'm in south Texas - so jealous of all that beautiful snow!

I have a little white dog that would disappear in to the snow never to be found again. But he thinks he's fierce like yours!

That's a lot of snow for March. The dog is cute, especially when it had all the snow on it snout.

I love all the snow on the face and nose...how he blinked and then you could see his eyes. How cute is that? I love doggie bliss...when they all run around all happy dog and all.

Love the wolf wanna be part too.

Happy SITS day!

Love the doggie!! I used to have one that went all crazy like that in the snow. Snow must be for dogs like chuck e cheese is for kids!

This is great. We have two shepherds...litter mates...they just turned a year old in April, and they keep life very interesting!

Merrie said...

We have two huskies, and while we haven't taken them to the snow yet, I feel certain they'd act pretty much like this dog here. :)

Enjoy the SITS day! I'll definitely be back!

That would freakin' scare the bejeebies out of me if that dog came at me like that!

Could that snow be any fluffier?

Maybe I'm not such a dog lover afterall!

hehehe, i love dogs in the snow - they are just so nuts!

We have one that absolutely LOVES the snow then there's Laci....Who hates anything that might get her wet. Video was super cute by the way!

i growled over from SITS. that video would be even funnier if the cameraman made some terrified noises. of course that comes from a dog lovers opinion and we're a little wacky. b-u-t-ful puppy! post more pix of her ;P

Oh gosh...am I glad I don't live in a snowy area anymore. Your post gave me horrible shivers when I saw all of that snow. It's mainly the driving in it that really bothered me.

how fun (don't you just love snow in march, i thought march was supposed to be the beginning of springtime!)

Caroline said...

Oh, I'm sooooooo jealous. Our weather people here always try to predict how much snowfall we'll get, but they're always wrong. I think we got...hmmmm...NONE this year and they predicted like 6 inches. BOO on weather people.

Caroline said...

I hope your husband isn't a weather man. If he is, I'm sure he's the only accurate one in the country.

I love the reaction of dogs to snow. If only I had that much energy (and we know Starbucks won't cut it). Great camera work :)

Snow is a 4-letter word in our house, but I do love watching dogs and small children play in it.

our shepherd mix goes crazy in the snow too! This winter she chased my son on his plastic sled! It was very funny!

puppy dogs and snow are a magical combination.

I had a big old lab/chow mix and he would completely wig out in the snow - of course he didn't necessarily need snow to wig out....

Love the snowy nose :)
